La Terra dello Slow Mix – A region of the authentic, unexpected, and unexplored.

Terre di Canossa
Canossa is known for being the home of Countess Matilda of Tuscany and for the Humiliation of Canossa. The event took place at Canossa Castle, where Pope Gregory VII was staying as a guest of Matilda. Holy Roman Emperor Henry IV came to seek absolution and the revocation of his excommunication. This historical and geographical heart of Matilda’s fiefdom covers the area in the Apennine hills of a formerly mighty fortified system. This system was known to protect the feudal state of Countess Matilda. These lands full of historical places, such as the castles of Canossa and Bianello, are at the heart of Emilia. The land awaits you to offer many experiences to live and remember forever.
